Chapter Eighteen: The Table of Solomon (peace be upon him)

The Table of Supreme Dominion, Food for Armies, and a Culture of Sovereignty and Subtle Asceticism

First: The Spiritual and Historical Dimension

1. A Dominion That No One After Him Should Possess

The pinnacle of empowerment, prosperity, and sovereignty in the history of the earth was embodied in the era of the Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him), who inherited from his father David and supplicated to his Lord with the supplication:

“He said, ‘My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, you are the Bestower.’” (Quran 38:35).

God subjected the wind to him, causing a spring of molten copper to flow for him, and He subjugated to him armies that no human, jinn, bird, or beast could withstand.

2. The Legendary Tables and Bowls Like Answers

The table of Solomon’s reign was no ordinary table, but a banquet that fed armies and entire nations. Demons and jinn crafted for him gigantic cooking pots and enormous bowls, so vast they resembled great water basins.

They made for him what he willed of sanctuaries and statues and basins like reservoirs and stationary kettles. [God said], “Work, O family of David, in gratitude.” (Saba: 13)

Historical and exegetical accounts (such as those narrated by Ibn Kathir) mention that at Solomon’s banquets, hundreds of animals—camels, cattle, and sheep—were slaughtered daily to feed the people, the armies, and the jinn. The feasts were laden with meat, tharid (a type of bread soup), whole grains, dates, and abundant fruit brought by the wind from all corners of the earth.

But herein lies the spiritual miracle; while these legendary tables were being set for all of creation, King Solomon, peace be upon him, sat apart, in asceticism, eating barley bread baked by hand, humble before God, grateful for His blessings, declaring that the true essence of kingship lies in the sovereignty of the soul, not in worldly possessions. The Enslavement of Desires.

Secondly: Scientific and Medical Analysis (A Modern Perspective)

If we examine the table of Solomon’s time, based on an abundance of “protein cooked in sturdy pots” and a balanced “barley ration,” from the perspective of modern nutritional science in 2026, we will see the genius of muscle building and maintaining superior physical and mental fitness.

1. The Secret of Concentrated Broth (Collagen for Joints and Ligaments): Cooking large quantities of meat and bones in sealed, stable pots for extended periods is considered by modern nutritional science to be the ideal method for extracting concentrated bone broth. This broth is exceptionally rich in gelatin, collagen, and amino acids such as glycine and proline, the primary medicinal elements responsible for repairing the joints of warriors and workers, building cartilage, and cleansing the intestinal lining (reducing intestinal permeability), thus granting soldiers exceptional flexibility and mobility.

2. Abundance of Micronutrients (Iron and Zinc for Mental Clarity): Slow-cooked wild game provides the body with substantial doses of organic iron (heme iron), zinc, and vitamin B12. This combination ensures the maintenance of high levels of energy and physical activity, and enhances the brain’s ability to concentrate and make strategic decisions in managing the kingdom and armies.

3. Barley bread: The secret to the king’s insulin stability. Solomon’s reliance on whole barley bread in his diet amidst this abundance represents the pinnacle of metabolic awareness.

Barley contains beta-glucan fiber, which prevents sudden spikes in blood sugar, thus protecting against post-meal lethargy (food coma) and maintaining mental clarity for receiving wisdom, making sound judgments, and managing the affairs of the kingdom.

Third: The Kitchen of Prophecy (A Modern Recipe from Solomon’s Table)

To revive the meal of kingship and strength, and to nourish your joints and muscles with pure, vital collagen that protects your movement, you can prepare the Steady Pot Soup (concentrated meat and bone broth):

Ingredients: Pieces of lamb or beef on the bone (preferably pieces containing joints and marrow), onion, garlic, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, and sea salt.

Preparation: Place the bones and meat in a deep pot and cover with water. Simmer very slowly over low heat for several hours until the meat is completely separated from the bone and the bones release marrow and collagen into the broth. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface, and add the whole spices and salt at the end.

Benefit: This broth is “liquid gold” for your joints and muscles; it helps repair cartilage in the knees and back, and promotes…

Lean muscle growth thanks to clean protein, providing a very filling meal that’s easy on the colon and digestive system.

First shot (spectacular and gigantic): An illustration shows enormous cooking pots with steam rising from them. The shot immediately cuts to pieces of meat simmering and melting, dripping with rich, golden broth.

Voice, in an enthusiastic and majestic tone: “What were the legendary dishes cooked in ‘stalled pots’ and enormous platters for the armies of humans and jinn during the reign of King Solomon?”

Second shot: The text “The Table of Our Master Solomon… The Food of the Greatest King” appears.

Voice: “Our Master Solomon was given a kingdom like no other, and his table fed nations of humans and jinn. Nutritional science in 2026 says that slowly cooking meat and bones in these enormous pots produces the strongest ‘collagen broth’ in the world, which builds warriors’ joints and strengthens muscle bonds. And strangely enough, our Master Solomon would leave all that and eat simple barley bread to maintain his mental clarity and health!” The third scene: “Follow me because in the next chapter we will enter the table of a prophet who lived in the heart of the desert… the table of life and asceticism.”

And purity… The table of our master Zechariah and his son, our master John, peace be upon them both.

Shall we adopt this magnificent chapter and move directly to chapter eighteen: The table of Zechariah and John, peace be upon them both?
