The Food Recipe of Prophet Adam (PBUH)
The food of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) in Islamic heritage and stories of the prophets is associated with the very first grain and bread harvested and prepared on Earth.
The Story of the First Food
According to historical and traditional Islamic texts (such as Al-Bidayah wa an-Nihayah by Ibn Kathir), when Adam descended to Earth, he did not yet know how to cook or prepare food. Angel Gabriel came to him by God’s command and taught him how to sow wheat, harvest it, grind it, knead it, and bake it.
🌾 Recipe for “Adam’s Wheat and Bread” (The Food of Beginnings)
This recipe represents the historical origin of making simple bread from whole grains:
Basic Ingredients:
- Whole wheat grains (or unrefined whole wheat flour).
- Pure water (as needed).
- A pinch of salt (optional).
Traditional Preparation Steps:
- Threshing and Processing: In early times, the grain was harvested and threshed to separate the wheat kernels from the chaff.
- Grinding: The wheat kernels were manually ground between two flat, clean stones until they turned into a coarse, whole-wheat flour.
- Kneading: The flour was gradually mixed with water and kneaded thoroughly by hand to form a firm, cohesive dough completely free of modern additives or complex yeasts.
- Baking (Cooking over Fire):
- The dough was shaped into small balls and flattened by hand into thin discs.
- The bread was baked by placing it on a smooth, hot stone heated over embers or on a simple griddle until fully cooked, yielding a rustic, wholesome loaf with a pure, natural grain flavor. breadcrumbs
