Anbiya Food

Following the generations of Joseph and his family in Egypt, Allah raised among His messengers a man whose name became universally synonymous with legendary patience, steadfast endurance, and absolute gratitude: Job (Ayyub), peace be upon him.
Blessings, Wealth, and Character
Job was a man blessed abundantly by Allah. He possessed vast wealth, extensive lands, herds of livestock, a large and loving family, and high social standing. Yet, despite his immense worldly blessings, Job’s heart remained entirely unattached to material riches. He was deeply devoted, extremely compassionate, generous to the poor, a protector of orphans and widows, and constantly grateful to Allah for His favors.
The Severe Divine Test
Satan, observing Job’s sincere and unwavering piety, grew envious and challenged that Job’s gratitude was merely a byproduct of his comfortable life and abundant wealth. Satan claimed that if stripped of his blessings, Job would surely turn away from worship and complain against his Lord.
To prove the sincerity of Job’s faith and to make him an eternal beacon of patience for humanity, Allah granted Satan permission to test Job’s worldly assets, though without power over Job’s soul, heart, or tongue.
In a rapid succession of devastating catastrophes, Job lost all his wealth, his livestock perished, and a sudden tragedy collapsed a building where his children were gathered, taking all of their lives. Despite suffering these unimaginable blows in a single day, Job fell into prostration, kissed the earth, and praised Allah, saying: “The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Physical Affliction and Loneliness
Undeterred, Satan targeted Job’s physical body. Job was struck by a severe, painful, and wasting illness that affected his entire body. He suffered intensely for years, abandoned by almost everyone in his community except for his fiercely loyal, devoted, and loving wife, who worked tirelessly day and night to support him and provide their daily bread.
Even when physical decay and extreme pain wracked his body, Job’s tongue never uttered a single word of complaint or impatience against Allah. His heart remained anchored entirely in remembrance, love, and gratitude to his Creator.
The Miraculous Healing and Relief
When the trial reached its absolute peak and Job had endured years of agony with total grace, he finally turned to his Lord in a humble, quiet supplication, as described in the Quran: “Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
Instantly, the divine response descended with overwhelming mercy and relief. Allah commanded Job: “Strike [the ground] with your foot: this is a [spring of] cool water for washing and a drink.”
Job struck the earth, and a miraculous, refreshing spring of water gushed forth. He washed himself and drank from it, and instantly, Allah restored his health completely, making him stronger, healthier, and more vibrant than he had ever been before. Furthermore, Allah doubled his wealth, returned his livestock manifold, and restored his family, blessing him with even more children and surrounding him with love and mercy.
The story of Job stands as an eternal testament that true strength lies in a patient heart, and that after every severe hardship, divine relief and boundless mercy are always near.
